About the event

Join Scarlett Ward, founder of Fawn Press, in conversation with award-winning poet and novelist Devjani Bodepudi. The evening will centre around Devjani's journey to become a published poet and her debut pamphlet 'For the daughters carried here on the hips of their mothers'. 

Devjani is an author, a poet and a teacher. She lives in Warwickshire with her family and is currently working on her second novel. She enjoys reading a range of different genres, including historical fiction, graphic novels and picture books. She is greatly influenced by her Bengali heritage and believes inspiration can be found everywhere. Devjani is an award-winning Poet. Her debut pamphlet 'For the daughters carried here on the hips of their mothers' was published in 2022 by Fawn Press and went on to win the award for 'Best Pamphlet 2023' by Saboteur Awards.

Fawn press was founded in 2021 by Scarlett Ward from the heart of Staffordshire. Fawn Press only publishes pamphlets, with the goal to nurture the journey of emerging and marginalised writers, and to offer a platform to amplify their voices.
