About the event
Run by poet David Braziel, the aim of the workshop will be to explore the difference between writing for the page and for the stage. We will think about what makes good spoken word and as a group we will give tips, inspiration and encouragement to anyone who writes and wants to get better at reading their work out loud to an audience. If you want to compete in slams, feel more confident at an open mic or even create your own show you will get something useful from this session.Â
David Braziel is a performance poet and writer from Stafford who has lived for most of his life in Northern Ireland. Three times winner of the Belfast Book Festival poetry slam, he has also won the Red Pill slam, the Bangor literature festival slam and the Belfast Heat of the All-Ireland slam giving him places in the All-Ireland finals.
